Vallnord was fantastic! We are sure you have already seen that Myriam Nicole won the Vallnord World Cup!
She loves riding steep and gnarly tracks and felt at home on the course at all times! It’s even better to see her on the top of the box after all her injuries, and tough times over the last couple of seasons, she finally proved she can be the fastest women in the world!
Offering this win to Commencal and Vallnord in their hometown was something extraordinary, the whole team is proud of Myriam for this.
Myriam smile and pure happiness made our day! We are now even more excited for the rest of the season. The battle for the women world cup overall is going to be epic, Myriam is back in the second position only 5 points from the lead.
Unfortunately, the men didn’t have quite the same experience because they all crashed during finals.
But we have to remember that George Brannigan was fast the whole weekend and it was good to see his confidence back! He ended up 59th, but was nearly 2 seconds up at the first split before he went down which proves that George is back on pace!
Thibaut and Gaëtan Ruffin also sampled the dirt during their runs, but more people than usual crashed here as the pace was incredibly high. Luckily they are fine, and they are looking forward to having their revenge next weekend in Lenzerheide for the fifth round of the UCI Word Cup.
We would like to thank Vallnord for the work they put in to create and maintain their fantastic track. It’s simply our favorite of the year and not just because Vallnord is our sponsor but because steep and fresh sections with multiple lines are just the best!
And some last news, Rémi Thirion is recovering well at home. His back and ribs are still a bit painful, but he has started to pedal on his trainer almost every day. We are confident to see him back for the end of the season!
See you in Lenzerheide!
